The site presents an MEng Thesis project with the title 'Exploring the use of Indigenous Timber as a resource for Timber-Framed Social Housing in Uruguay'.

Our aim is to implement a method of timber construction made from Uruguayan indigenous timber which must be simple to construct and applicable to social house design. Special attention will be paid to connections and material properties while we are also aiming to understanding the environmental and economic consequences of utilising this material.

This website was created by Thomas Ellis and Darius Cook, both final year students in Structural Engineering with Architecture at the University of Edinburgh.

The project is supervised by Kate Carter and Remo Pedreschi of the School of Architecture at the University of Edinburgh.
